This current body of work explores dimensional qualities through the layering of colors in an effort to capture a sense of an inner universe.

Striving to develop a visual language to convey a sense of a personal inner life, experienced yet concealed. A nonverbal observation expressed in visual terms.

The layering of color invites an ethereal character in conjunction with an unsettling of undefined space. Often there is interjected a contrasting element of shape or color. Perhaps similar to a ‘foothold” or unexpectedness in life.

A sense of light lifts the spirit of the piece, like an optimism.

Most of pieces retain the raw edge of the primed paper, inviting an honesty as seen by clear presence of the original surface material.

The work is reaching towards a vulnerability: can there be exposure to the mysterious expanse of unknown and continue to welcome a conversation with what is presented?

It is my hope for my work carries a sense of the deep inner focus experienced in its creation.
